If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know that I’m a true café gal. The chic surroundings, strong coffee and admirable finds leave me wanting more of that café life. Circle for one has been a favorite of mine for a while. From giving me the strong dose of daily caffeine to celebratory lunches sneaked during #agencylife, the place is an all-rounder hitting home runs for breakfast, lunch and dinner. When I was ‘officially’ invited to review this place at the Jumeirah Beach Plaza, I was over-the-top elated and much to my surprise, there was still more to discover.
Let me begin by stating the food was magnificent. Starting off with my all-time favorite appetizers sweet-potato fries and Cajun chips paired with three of the freshest dips I have ever tried. The guacamole was slightly chunky, slightly tangy, balanced off nicely with some lemon. The tomato salsa was incredibly sweet and sour balancing the crispness of the chips perfectly.
The hero of the entrée was the Thai Green Curry, which let me say is the creamiest curry when it comes to consistency, paired with sweet veggies and tender chicken. The chicken literally melts in your mouth and I can’t stress enough how delicious this curry is. However, if you’re a fan of super-duper spicy curry, this isn’t for you, the balance of flavor is rather sweet, spicy on-point, with no flavor over-powering the other.
My partner in crime tried their pear and apple salad paired with feta and walnuts. I’ve never been so impressed with the clean, crisp flavors of a salad. Paired with a slightly pungent feta and crunchy walnuts, the freshness was so impressive. P.S. The pear is sweetly poached being the perfect sidekick to apple’s bite.
Dessert was a whole new ball game, I have never actually paid attention to these before, but it was such a pleasant surprise. We ordered the Grande Crepe to share and Rosewater Pomegranate Lychee Salad, and they were complete opposites, yet so so so good. Let me start by saying that the Rosewater Pomegranate Lychee Salad is the most refreshing thing you’re ever going to have this summer, it is light, it is uplifting and it has the most beautiful aroma. The lychee paired with a hint of rosewater is not over-powering at all, in fact it is extremely palette-pleasing. Topped with chiseled almonds and pomegranate seeds, the dessert is a no-fuss and easy to chowdown after a long summer’s day. I recommend this HIGHLY, YOU must try this on their next visit to Circle Café. In fact, I’m so in love that I’m actively playing recipes in the kitchen and if I do come somewhere close, I’ll post it here.
On the contrary, the crepe was a decadent mouthful. This is what your order when you go out with four people and not just two, because walking away from something as divine is just not in me. The chocolate, strawberry and banana paired with a thin crepe and nutella left a scrumptious imprint, one I have to go back for soon.
This is my experience at Circle Café and I’m sure yours won’t be any different. When you do try this place out, leave me your favorites in the comments below, so I can add it to my repertoire for next time.
