When Karima from Shameless Fripperies used this foundation tutorial after tutorial, I knew that I had to try it. It supposedly claims to give a natural finish, blends seamlessly and meshes with the skin instead of sitting on top of it. I know it’s rude, but I really want to put a massive *BEEP* after that claim as the product doesn’t deliver and has been one of the most heartbreaking purchases *inserts sad face*.
The biggest issue it that it deposits powders in the crevices of my face and breaks-down at the sight of sweat instantly (not good for the humidity in Dubai). It literally sits like pigment on my skin and never blends well. Since the texture is so light, I’ve tried a buffing brush, a stippling brush, a beautyblender and the Karima fave, patting gently with my fingers. While I have all the patience in the world to sit in front of a mirror and pat my skin for 15 mins for an impeccable skin-like finish, I wasn’t keen to see the results on this one.
The foundation itself has SPF, no mineral oil and is paraben free, but on my oily face with problematic dry patches, this one is a sure pass. While reading online reviews I did feel I was alone in this rant, but can someone please tell me how to make this work? Let me know in the comments below: Have you tried this foundation or any other Koh Gen Do products?
