The irresistible packaging of a NARS product is your first lead into the brand and then you get sucked into the performance and pigmentation. I picked up these two gorgeous bits form their Spring Collection and re-stocked an old fave. Here are my thoughts:
NARSissist L’Amour, Toujours L’Amour Eyeshadow Palette is a neutral lovers dream. The colors from top left go as: I – Cream Bisque II – Shimmering Pink Sand III – Amethyst Ash IV – Black Truffle V – Golden Starlight VI – Sunburst Copper VII – Café Au Lait VIII – Pistol Grey IX – Industrial Steel X – Regal Blue XI – Shimmering Taupe Cashmere XII – Shimmering Liquorice. Now the matte’s and shimmer’s are both of exquisite quality. The only thing you’d notice is that the texture is much stiffer than the likes of Lorac Pro and MakeupGeek Eyeshadows. The pigment is strong and will build up with your method of application. As someone who owns the original NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette and the Dual-Intensity Palette, this is a quality of NARS eyeshadows, the texture is usually harder, but the quality or longevity really doesn’t change. It just needs thoughtful application and the results are fantastic. If you’re going for a smoky eye, build up slowly in your crease and then use a synthetic flat brush to apply or your fingers. If you’re doing just one wash of color, go straight in with your flat brush and blend the edges softly.
NARS Laguna Liquid Bronzer is by far my favorite NARS product ever (It took a lot of guts to replace my previously adorned Hot Sand Illuminator). This product is bronze glow in a bottle. It’s matte, it’s pigmented and it’s stunning. Again, with different applications you could receive a very different look with this product. You could use it under your foundation to add an all over healthy tan. You could use it over the foundation on the areas where sun would naturally hit your face. Or my preferred way, which is to mix a generous amount with my foundation and follow it with one extra layer as a bronzer. Ahh! This just looks beautiful on the skin.
NARS creamy concealer is an old fave that I re-stocked. I’m now using the shade custard and am pretty chuffed with the results. I’d highly recommend using this with beauty blender only as it is a potent concealer that sets almost immediately. To be fair, I didn’t see the hype initially. I got sucked in after persistent usage and realized the long-lasting quality of this concealer and it really stands the test of both time and heat.
Tell me, what are your favorite NARS products?
